CES is looking more sparse again. The announcements of outright cancellations are continuing, even at this late hour. Press events start on Mondaym, and by mid-week, traditional names like IBM, PAnasonic, AMD, and more have dropped. Mercedes and BMW, two leaders in car tech, as well as Procter and Gamble, OnePlus, and more. Others are seriously backing down, noting their exhibits will be smaller, or minimally staffed. The folks behind CES, the Consumer Technology Association, claim that while there were cancellations, some late additions made up for it. Considering most big names will be replaced by little tiny names, I don’t know about this.

The annual consumer tech convention is still scheduled for next week in Las Vegas despite dozens of exhibitors canceling in-person presentations.
