Verbatim has come up with a WORM drive. Write Once Read Many was something from ages ago. It was cheaper than standard, but it was useful for throwaway situations. The selling points are for one-time usage for critical one-time backups, or spy craft, but at this size, that’s kinda strange. This new unit only has 128GB, but it’s three times the size of a standard flash / thumb drive. Microcenter has a 512GB read write flash drive at $40, so I can’t see how this even has a market. Sure it’s SSD, but that shouldn’t impact anything.

Verbatim’s 128GB SSD keeps data super-secure by never letting you write over it.
