Bill Gates said this past week that his goal is to give away a lot of cash. He added $20 Billion to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and set a goal of distributing $9 Billion annually. The current cash levels of the Foundation are enough to last 8 years at that rate, even without accounting for various infusions, gains from investments, and so forth. An admirable goal, which appears to continue on Melinda’s side as well.
