Drobo is one of the companies in the Network and Direct Access Storage spaces. The fact that they just files Chapter 11 is concerning. They are claiming that they are restructuring, but they have zero product available right now, their bloh and tweet’s have been dry, and more. This is a company that used to be a big name, but top ranked Synology has trounced them for years. This isn’t an economy issue, but simply a company that stopped innovating 5 years ago, in a field where others were moving and shaking out new ideas left and right. Bummer, though…

Longstanding Thunderbolt and network-attached storage company Drobo filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in late June, and will hold its first creditors meeting on July 17.
