The latest bad news from Windows 11’s early build process is that the camera will now tell if you can’t use the camera, and guilt you into turning it on. The claim is that you might forget that you set it to privacy mode and wonder why it isn’t working. My thought process is a little more sinister sounding, in the constant invasions of our privacy, from each of the many devices that are listening in on us. It’s now so much easier for companies to spy through our cameras which we have loaded into so many places into our lives. Yes, our doorbell, our misc cameras, our volunteering of data through TikTok, and more.

Microsoft has been hard at work on Windows 11 improvements ahead of the big 22H2 update, which is now expected to arrive in September. More fixes are on the way for the Windows Camera app.
