Honoring that old adage of “don’t put all of your eggs in one basket” is continuing at Apple. Apple is shifting their production around the world. An unofficial goal appears to be securing of manufacturing options outside of China for everything. We’ll chat about that in the second hour a little, but the move away from China is continuing. The latest news is that some MacBook Pro manufacturing will now be performed in Vietnam. This follows moving some iPhone work to India, Apple Watch and iPads in Vietnam, and last weeks news of chip production into the United States. Following production tests at Foxconn’s Vietnam facility, Apple will reportedly move some MacBook Pro manufacturing to the country for the first time.
