One thing that is always true on the Internet; If someone creates something highly popular, there will be bad guys to exploit that. ChatGPT is very popular these days, and someone created a ChatGPT extension (with a space between Chat and GPT) that steals your data from Facebook files left behind. This only works on folks using apps in the Google store, so we’re fortunate about that, so far. The problem is that many bad actors will be attempting to confuse you, steal more data, money, or more. Always use caution whenever you’re working with the latest hype machine, which in this case is ChatGPT.
Google has removed a ChatGPT extension from the Chrome store that steals Facebook session cookies – but not before more than 9,000 users installed the account-compromising bot.
