Drones have to follow a number of rules set forth by the FAA. After a certain size, they have to adhere to a RemoteID rule that broadcasts various bits of information, much like a high-tech license plate. DJI is one of the biggest companies in the drone world, and they just lost compliance status on one of their drones. Apparently there were many problems with the paperwork for compliance, including the fact that the employee claims he didn’t submit the paperwork for compliance in the first place. The upside is that this was one of their more expensive drones from a few years back, already labelled as “legacy”, the term we usually associate with discontinued.
The FAA has rescinded the Remote ID declaration of compliance for the DJI Mavic Pro Platinum drone with immediate effect.
