India is the fourth country to put a craft on the moon. The name is not all that unique… Chandrayaan-3 means “moon craft” in Hindi. On the other hand, this is hte first mission to touch down at the lunar south pole, and it represents an exciting time for India, who put the mission at $74 million in cost. That’s half of the Russian mission that failed. There are a few things, like the 30 pound payload size, and a a disparity in worker wages compared to us, but they made it. In fact, many sci-fi movies were more expensive to film than this. I’m quite happy for their effort, and am looking forward to hearing more.
India’s Chandrayaan-3 moon mission is the first ever to touch down at the lunar south pole. Many nations and private ventures have set their sights on the region because of its ice.
