Companies often want to hold on to your cash, and offer what competitors do. So, when Google offered 10 years of automatic updates for Chromebooks this past week, it was surprising. But they did more than that… Chromebooks purchased that were made since Jan 1st, 2021 are also extended into that 10 years. So, my Chromebook will get updates until April 2032, and the Chrome browser will also get updates after that, presuming the Internet doesn’t change too much. I like my Chromebook, and use it as my travelling computer now, and it works wonders. It’s worth looking into, especially since you can get some sweet hardware for a few hundred dollars.
