Regrettably, Amazon has taken the approach that if you want to avoid ads, you’ll have to pay more. At the end of the month, they plan to charge you another $3 a month if you want to watch without ads. For many folks, this is actually going to be worth it, but the approach is backwards for people who will have to go to the configuration, and decide if they are willing to pay more for ads, or take the exit path. Amazon could have done better on their approach, following the same approach of “hey, would you like to save a $1 or so by viewing ads” to help support their venture. Time will tell who is the winner, but I feel that we may be the losers.
Prime Video customers will soon have to sit through TV commercials. But there are ways to avoid them, and some movies that will not have any ads.
