Microsoft ran on the bad side of some folks this week. Breaking the $3 Trillion Market cap was cool, and so was purchasing Activision Blizzard six months ago. After such great news, they decided to send 1900 workers to pack their desks and head home from Microsofts gaming division. The news sent many people commenting on the poor timing, both in the news, but also in the gaming fan sector. The approach was announced as maintaining a “sustainable cost structure” but was blasted by many as a hit against the goodwill that they assured gamers would be coming after taking over one of the biggest names in the field.
Microsoft Gaming lays off about 1,900 people, adding onto an especially brutal January for tech workers.
