Netflix cracked down on sharing of passwords. Naturally, this weeks announcement of the same from the combined venture of Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN was not surprising. The interesting approach, however, is that Netflix went with IP addresses, but Hulu’s approach appears to be leveraging algorithms to see if user habits match what they think they should. Netflix and Amazon lead the way, so this will be an interesting approach. The whole streaming package that is Disney+etc is facing reports from multiple directions that people are abandoning ship left and right.

Freeloaders won’t have much longer to use their friend’s Hulu account, and the streamer might ban your account for sharing a password.
