So, the future of printing is looking rather faded, and yet we still need to occasionally put something on paper. In January, HP launched its All-In Plan, a subscription service for printing. Subscribers choose from three printer models with monthly fees starting at $6.99, and get a set number of pages to print each month. The plan includes free ink, next-day ink delivery, and printer support, but requires a two-year contract commitment. The idea of us owning anything anymore is slipping away, as our favorite movies are behind gatekeepers of the streaming companies, our features to our cars locked for a fee, and now, even the printed word can have a surcharge. Only HP will be happy in this arrangement.
