Dell is pivoting away from earlier statements about… paraphrasing “if you have to force people into the office, you’re doing it wrong”. They have setup two categories of employees, hybrid, and remote. Hybrid workers will have to come into the office about 3 times a week, but remote will stay remote. The kicker, however, for the remote workers, is that they will not be considered for promotion or changing roles. Any new offers would require in-office work. They must have missed the latest research by University of Pittsburgh that found the return-to-office mandates hurt company morale, and do not boost company finances.

Big turnaround from Dell’s previous pro-WFH stance.
