We’ve been talking about Hertz, and their woes with electric vehicles. Recently they dropped 1/3rd of their fleet of EV’s onto the market at bargain basement rates. This week, Hertz CEO Stephen Scherr stepped down, after they had the worst quarter since the pandemic. I would have thought they’d replace with someone not inclined towards EVs, but the replacement is Gil West, who was the former COO of GM’s robotaxi division. Not sure what this says about this rental industry, or the whole electric car craze, but it’ll be something that we should be watching for the future.
