As Windows 10 market share went up in March, Microsoft had to make some adjustments, and allow more hardware to be eligible for the upgrade to Windows 11. This is an ongoing problem with Microsoft, and usually they respond quickly with a new version that addresses complaints. Windows 11, however, is 2 1/2 years old, and still hasn’t matched 1/2 of the install base of Windows 10. Shades of Windows ME, Windows Vista, Windows 8… same story, different day. Microsoft is trying so hard to push Windows 11 in other ways, trick installs, dark patterns, and massive ads.

Since November 2021, Microsoft has denied certain Windows 10 PCs the free upgrade to Windows 11. Microsoft is now lifting the ban.
