The FTC shared a report that throws the spotlight on the top impersonated companies for last year. Best Buy, and its Geek Squad tech support led the pack with a whopping 52,000 scam reports, causing $15 million in losses. They were followed by Amazon and PayPal, with Amazon racking up 34,000 complaints and PayPal at 10,000. But hold on, even though Best Buy had the most reports, the financial damage was greater in scams involving Microsoft, where victims lost $60 million from only 7,000 incidents. The report warns everyone to stay sharp about tricks like fake service renewals and bogus security alerts, especially on social media and through email.

FTC says be aware of these scams
