In what is surely a sign of the times, a businessman turned politician, Steve Endacott, has setup an AI system to serve as his presence to his constituents. AI Steve will be on the ballot alongside human candidates in Brighton Pavilion. Endacott, who controls AI Steve, sees it as a co-pilot, always available to chat with voters and consider their opinions. Powered by artificial intelligence technology, AI Steve can answer questions about policies and even research new issues. Despite some skepticism, Endacott believes AI Steve can revolutionize democracy by keeping voters engaged between elections. Kinda creepy too.

An artificial intelligence candidate is on the ballot for the United Kingdom’s general election next month.
