What started recently as a Ticketmaster breach, has unfolded into more concerns that about 165 organizations were hit. This was due to an incident at a cloud computing company called Snowflake where their customers, the 165, were hit. Further, it seems that the customers hadn’t turned on multi-factor authentication, ignored directions to reset passwords, and a lack of proper limitations as to who could access these accounts. We don’t know how this will measure up in size of hacks for the year, but it’s a big one, where we haven’t seen all of the effects take place.

Mandiant’s blog post is the first indication of just how widespread the incident has become.
