Apple TV’s 3rd generation, which was introduced in 2012, had a price drop this week. This was as Netflix announced separately that they were going to drop support for the older 1080p version this summer. Of course, this weeks WWDC announcements may render this as a blowout price to clear shelves of inventory. Even the aging Apple TV 4k is merely a few dollars more, and if we don’t see new hardware at WWDC, it’s a no-brainer to go with something newer. I’m not sure why they even have the 3rd generation on shelves anymore. We’ll be watching WWDC and reporting on it next week.

The third-gen Apple TV 4K is our favorite premium streaming device, and it has dropped to its lowest price to date.
