When you do a Google Search, you’re given a section of the screen devoted to an AI response, alongside of the original approach to web results. Not wishing to be outdone, the latest announcement from OpenAI, is the launch of something called SearchGPT, an AI tool designed to provide direct, up-to-date answers from the web. It seeks to make online searches more conversational and reliable. This development matters because it could revolutionize how people find information online, improving accuracy and ease of use. It could, of course, take us down new rabbit holes, and give us inaccurate results, much like Google’s AI product does already.
The company promises that search results will include clear and relevant sources.
