There’s this trick for Tesla owners that people were using, and it’s like many other viral tricks, it’s not as good as it sounds. The idea of wrapping a damp cloth around the Supercharger cable handle to cool it down isn’t such a bright idea after all. Tesla gave a statement after months of silence to warn folks about the risks. The trick supposedly fools the temperature monitor, but it could actually overheat the charger or cause damage. It’s a classic case of DIY gone wrong, with Tesla playing catch-up on safety tips that should’ve been clear from the get-go!
