After a formal review by NASA, an announcement came for Boeing regarding the Starliner and her crew. In an announcement by NASA (conspicuously not attended by Boeing), the two astronauts who were slated to spend a week, will now be at the ISS until February. The Starliner will need to travel empty back to Earth, probably in September. Astronauts Williams and Wilmore will come back on SpaceX’s Crew 9 mission, which will need to be reworked a little, and new spacesuits provided for the two astronauts. The Boeing Starliner’s status isn’t complete, but the hurdles ahead are concerning.
The fate of two NASA astronauts — who have been in limbo aboard the International Space Station for about 80 days — is now clear.
