China Wants to Start a National Internet ID System

China is driving hard to develop a National Internet ID system now. This idea is a doubling down on their
previous social media score called Sesame, but it’s not fully completed, and a
little behind their original blueprints.
In this new National Internet ID system, they would take over
verification from companies, and would give everyone a single ID to use across the
Internet. The historically repressive
regime would of course, never use this information to persecute freedom of
speech. They would never take away
access. They would never cause people to
disappear. Anyone who says otherwise, is
a conspiracy theorist selling tin-foil hats.
