California, home to Apple, is now going to be rolling out the ability to load your drivers license or state ID into your Apple Waller. They join five other states in this move towards a digital representation. This is supposed to be acceptable for usage at TSA and businesses, but it does come with a note in the official announcement that it doesn’t mean that you can leave your physical ID at home. Apple also provided their own announcement alongside, and it includes a lot of the usual support of their ecostructure, but also noting the security and privacy that is built into the Apple devices that support this.
Beginning this fall, Californians will be able to add their driver’s licenses and state IDs to Apple Wallet.
