It’s not a scam, but it’s not wise. I came across this “get a new Macbook every two years” ad, and I had to figure it out. You make payments over the course of 36 months, and once you’re 24 months in, you can upgrade to a new Macbook. I had to look over the fine print, to find that it’s financed, with interest, and you give the product back at the end. After 2 years, your out of pocket will have been (ez math) 2/3rds of the up-front, but the actual resale value has only dipped by 1/3rd. This means that you leave money on the table, and pay interest for the right to do so. Just buy it cash outright, and if you have to finance, you’ll still own the Macbook outright.

Have you ever wished there was an easier way to own the latest MacBook?
