We talked about the Polaris Dawn mission last week. It is on hold right now, and the reschedule is unclear at the moment. Part was weather, part was a Falcon 9 booster mishap that happened this week. Both of these minor items do shove this groundbreaking launch back, perhaps a couple of weeks. Both were minor bits of bad news for SpaceX, but there was good news in the other space travel item that we’ve been tracking.

The Polaris Dawn mission was delayed Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Then it was due to launch via a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Friday morning, August 30, 2024. But a Falcon 9 booster exploded during a droneship landing on Wednesday, August 28. Now the Polaris Dawn launch is delayed indefinitely, perhaps several weeks.
