Police work involves tracking a lot of details. Imagine you are a witness to an accident, and you give the details to the police officer. Oklahoma City is currently experimenting with an AI chatbot that will track all of the details from your voice, assemble them with the other voices and details from the scene, and develop the report in seconds, instead of an hour. It interfaces with the body camera, giving the text over to the officer for proofreading and correction after. This innovative approach could help restore more officers back out in the field, where they are needed, but I hope that it doesn’t devolve into a place where downsizing occurs.
