The CEO of X, aka Twitter, Linda Yaccarino, dropped a bombshell on Tuesday, in an announcement that X has filed an antitrust lawsuit against the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM) and the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA). This lawsuit throws some serious accusations, accused the defendants of an “illegal boycott” aimed at X, citing a report from the U.S. House Judiciary Committee. The report alleges that GARM and its members colluded to defund platforms and content they disapprove of, potentially limiting consumer choices. Some of the members seeking to keep advertising from X include CVS, Mars, Unilever, and more, all under the guise of “misinformation” and other terms that refer to lack of censorship, or political correctness by X of those who post on the platform.
