It often seems that life does imitate art. Late last week, Elon Musk’s Tesla made a presentation with a new robot, Robotaxi, and Robovan. Even casual observers could see that the event, entitled “We, Robot” introduced products with amazing similarity to items in a movie made in 2004 called “I, Robot”. The director of the movie wasted no time responding with a complaint, and that was accompanied by a high amount of mocking by the social media world. Having watched sci-fi for years, I‘ve frequently seen how concepts from past sci-fi have often appeared to be prescient in their appearance to what we eventually wind up with, so while I’m not defending the ultimate designs, I’m also not surprised.
