Google has a product called NotebookLM, which is one of the various Language Models, aka, Artificial Intelligence. It can generate a podcast out of the text that you assign it. Two people chatter back and forth about whatever you provide details on, and ask them to talk about. Someone fed it information to read, about the idea of this exact topic, and the resulting podcast was a jarring bit of audio, a self-realization by the AI host that they weren’t real. It is, of course, a programmatic reaction, and it isn’t true self-awareness, but something designed to appear such. Over the long term, we may have true issues with AI, where it struggles with it’s own existence, or artificial nature, but for now, it’s just a simulation.
