Want another year with Windows 10? Microsoft has announced that you can move to an Extended Security Update program, which will continue the patches for another year beyond the drop dead date. There is a cost however, announced as $30, which extends to October 2026. That may be good for those who want to buy more time before getting a new computer with Windows 11, or take more time to pace yourself. With a year left until Windows 10’s expiration, that’s still about 60% of the Windows desktop market. I’m reluctantly planning on the Windows 11 jump with my primary system before the end of the year.
