This week, Elon Musk threatened legal action against the California Coastal Commission. It seems that on Thursday, they rejected a request from SpaceX for more frequent launches. At the core of that rejection, were comments made at the hearing, where many statements were made about Elon Musk’s political statements online, as well as elsewhere. Multiple commissioners defended their stance, without recognizing the violation of the Freedom of Speech enshrined in our Bill of Rights. This is overreach, and could become a setback towards expanding our nations goals of reaching out to the final frontier.
The California Coastal Commission denied a request to allow SpaceX to increase its number of launches at Vandenberg Space Force Base to 50 a year.
