A couple of Harvard students worked up an idea uising the hardware for Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glasses, and quickly raised alarms for privacy. This is something that we likely knew would arrive someday, but the code uses the glasses to take a picture of someone, scans the internet, locates the person, and then provides a wealth of information to strike up a conversation. For now, it has to stream the video to Instagram, a computer will detect the face, download a bunch of information, which takes a couple of minutes, then fed it back to the wearer. The twist to the story; It already existed to some extent, and doesn’t rely upon the Meta glasses, but simply used them as one option for delivery of the information.
