I definitely like my Amazon echo devices, and my smart home. When Amazon announced a 15″ and 21″ version of the Echo Show, I was both intrigued, and also thrown off a little. These are massive screens for a very singular purpose, and could be good for the smart home obsessive. Yes, they’ve bumped up the audio, upgraded to WiFi 6E, and have cool camera upgrades. The issue that I was thrown off by, however, is the $300 and $400 price tags for something that will have a 5 year shelf life, from a company that has already taken efforts to dial back their infrastructure for. Perhaps they know their customer base, and perhaps it can be a good product for some, but I just have a hard time seeing it.
