More nerds everywhere are going to be paying attention to football, or at least Netflix next month. OK, I don’t follow pugilism or football a whole lot. Netflix aired the fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, and I didn’t bother with it. However, the Netflix streaming problems scared a lot of people who are wondering what’s going to happen with the two Christmas Day football games. I heard more water cooler gossip about how bad it was than the actual fight, not knowing who won until I looked it up for myself later on. Netflix is probably scrambling to shore up network routers, their infrastructure, and more, to ensure a repeat doesn’t happen, but this kind of problem takes time and testing to resolve. Netflix has a lot riding on this big bet for live streaming.
