Earlier this year, we reported Amazon would sell cars. It’s now rolling out, but it’s only Hyundai, and Amazon is just a middleman in the operation. You can buy a new car, but you’ll have to still go into the dealer to finish the deal, and this raises a big question as to why one would add another layer into the process. I looked up the exact same VIN number car on Amazon and at the local dealer, and it was $96 more to get it through Amazon. It seems like a step backward in the entire car buying experience to add in Amazon, who will want a piece of the game, and this is now, when they are barely starting up the process. I’m going with the option of “no deal”.
