You ever book a hotel for $100, but after you were checking out, you found $50 in additional fees that were unavoidable? How about concert tickets? Good news is here, in that the Federal Trade Commission instituted a Junk Fees Rule this week that requires that all of the pricing in advertising, websites, and more, will have to include the true prices of what you’re looking to get. What you see up-front needs to be match the final price that you’ll be charged, in a transparent way. As always, this law will take 120 days from now, and you can bet that there will be a lot of big shot lawyers jumping in to try and stop it.
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has today announced a new rule which will ban apps and websites in the hotel and event industries from using hidden fees to engage in bait-and-switch pricing.
