Last week, I noted that the FBI warned that communications via text are not encrypted cross platform… meaning between Apple and Android. One of the things that I should have clarified is that msot of us don’t send messages that contain information that needs to be encrypted. The typical conversations in most of our lives are asking about what we want for lunch, checking in on friends, and so forth. The key concern that we need to be aware of when working with text messages is that they shouldn’t be used for exchanging banking information, or other confidential details. Think it over, but most over your messaging may not be of any concern.
After Chinese hackers infiltrated eight US telecommunications companies, the US government now recommends the use of encrypted messaging.
