This one is exciting for me. I’ve tinkered with smartwatches, and only one stayed with me for any great length of time… the Pebble watch. Waterproof before Apple Watch, and a 7 day battery life were winning features, that made it, at the time, one of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns. I purchased and wore it for a long time, until Fitbit came along and picked them up, only to abandon the customer base… which I’ve resented for years. This week, the founder of Pebble made two announcements. First was that Google (who bought Fitbit) released the operating system to open-source. The other was that he intends to bring out a new watch with new features.
It’s been a long time since this name popped up.
