The obligatory TikTok update gave a quick outage lasting under a day, with a restoration that praised the incoming US President. Staying away from politics here, the President did say that he planned to give more time for the Chinese based social media platform to find a new buyer, but this seems more like a marketing stunt than anything else. Other platforms benefitted during that outage, but raised more questions as to if they are no different than any of the other platforms. The ongoing drama will continue, as lawmakers use their own platforms to support or decry this ongoing issue.
Trump announced the decision in a post on his Truth Social account on Sunday as millions of TikTok users in the U.S. awoke to discover they could no longer access the TikTok app or platform.
