A company by the name of Humane came out with an AI pin a while back. It was an example of a $700 tech device that like so many others, just didn’t think ahead. Imagine a device that sits on your shirt, has access to AI, and gives you answers. Yeah, like OK Google, or Hey Siri, but as it’s own device. No screen. Not even great answers. Reviews were horrible, and it was a poor product delivery, with samples being placed on ice before showing to investors ant purchasers. So, this week, it was announced that the 10,000 or so purchasers had 10 days to download any data, and then it would be bricked by the end of the month. Ouch. HP purchased the intellectual property for a chunk of change, but like so many oddities, it was never going to make it.
AI hardware startup Humane has given its users just ten (10!) days notice that their Pins will be disconnected. The AI startup is discontinuing its AI Pin and selling out to HP.
