Amazon is shifting strategies, and it’s interesting. We used to search for a brand, find the product, and order direct from Amazon. Now, Amazon has found ways to shift you to a brand’s own website, you order there, and through this new feature of “Buy with Prime”, you’ll get the same free delivery, customer support and return options that you’d get from Amazon. It’s interesting in that they’ve now put their design into operating as a shopping search engine. They still get paid, but they also manage to focus specific sales into the brands involved, as opposed to seeing competitor brands. Of course, Amazon is still making money off this, so it’s good for them.

We’re experimenting with helping customers find products from other brands’ sites when they search in the Amazon Shopping app.
