Apple was hit with a lawsuit in regards to their “carbon neutral” claims for the Apple Watch Series 9, SE, and Ultra 2. This comes out of their reliance on carbon offset projects, which may have already been under conservation protections, or already heavily forested. The idea of shifting blame through offsets has long come under fire, as it’s not really changing the product to make it more ecologically sound. Those bringing the lawsuit say that with these two things in mind, they would have skipped the purchase, or at least expected it to be cheaper in price. Of course, this will take a while to work it’s way through the courts, and Apple, like most any other behemoth corporation, has plenty of lawyers to stretch this out for ages.
