The latest space news has a lot of political baggage from both sides, but I do want to note a few key pieces. Boeing is reporting $250 million in losses for the Starliner program, which brings their new total to over $2 billion in cost overruns. The crew they sent up, is bring brought back, and therein lies some of the political mess… it’s both later, and earlier, as the spacecraft are being swapped around. Timelines were pushed back, but in moving to the second craft, they’ll arrive back a few weeks earlier. It’s a mess… just know that Wilmore and Williams are due back soon, and that’s really all that matters.
The company may sell parts of its space business as it struggles to meet its end of a $4.3 billion contract with NASA.
