The Apple-1 computer represents the first effort of the personal computer, made back in 1976 and 1977, the 200 machines represented more of an idea to hobbyists, and a promise of that could be. In the past week, one of these, specifically 91, a restored and operational computer, with handwritten notes, sold for $375,000 at auction. Other items were also up for sale, but it does highlight that some of those older computers, that are easily overpowered by todays tech, still hold massive sentimental value. I personally have a couple of machines that date back into the early 80’s, and love to drag them out for a personal look back into our history.
Apple-1 was the first computer built by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, which marked the beginning of Apple. Unsurprisingly, finding an Apple-1 today is quite rare, especially one that still works. But someone has now bought an Apple-1 Computer for $375,000 at auction.
