It should be no surprise that another major CEO out there has made hefty work demands of his teams. We’ve known that Google lacked work-life balance for a while now. This week, Google’s co-founder, Sergey Brin has told engineers that they need to return to office, and that he believes that the 60 hour work week is peak efficiency. Hardly the approach expected from a company that used to be famous for all kinds of pool tables and hockey puck stations, free food, and other “work hard, play hard” benefits. He’s pushing hard for them to build AI, using AI to write the code, which of course means, they are going to work hard to put themselves on the unemployment line as AI makes them expendable.
