I love watching movies with the subtitles on, and I’ve grown quite adept at the experience. Another level is coming where not only the subtitles, but even the spoken language, the dubbing, can be done by AI. Amazon announced they are testing this idea for Prime Video, which will be still monitored by humans to ensure proper outcomes, and that means that moving us into the better movies from other countries, languages, and cultures could be coming soon behind. Sure, this does mean replacing voiceover artists, but it could lead to a more seamless viewing experience. It will likely also lead to an increase in people who know how to use AI, and work with it to improve the outcome.
