There are tools for various things. You can use big hammers, or small hammers. The bigger the job, the bigger the hammer. Excel is a tool, which you could run your personal finances on, or perhaps a very small business or maybe crunch some numbers in a department. Health New Zealand, during a review by Deloitte auditors, was found to be balancing their $28 Billion books, not using a major accounting package, but Excel. This is after a few years of serious accounting errors, tracking issues, and so much more. It was also reported that they have 6,000 different applications and 100 different digital networks. I can’t even imagine who thought this was a good idea.
